Coalition for Conscience Plans Rally on Gay Pride Day

President Barack Obama signed a declaration, in the “year of the Lord” 2009 no less, designating June as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender month. One group in Charlotte, North Carolina is answering back.

The Coalition for Conscience is organizing a rally in uptown Charlotte in response to the city’s annual gay pride event. More than one thousand believers will be gathering to worship the Lord, intercede in prayer, and proclaim that “God Has a Better Way!”

The organization’s Web site states: “We need worshipers, intercessors, musicians, soul-winners, walkers, talkers, and believers of every age, color, and size to stand together as a prophetic witness to our society. Everything we do will be law-abiding, safe, and honoring to the Lord in spirit and in word.”

In January, 2009, Focus on the Family’s Citizen magazine carried a story called, “Something New in Charlotte,” highlighting the work that has been in done in Charlotte and pointing to it as a model for other cities.
