Life is What You Choose to Make it
Published Wednesday, March 18th, 2009 in Prophetic Prophetic Words
I was walking into my condo this morning, somewhat disappointed because of a series of delays that got my day off to a late start and admittedly dreading some seemingly difficult assignments at hand.
At that moment, the word of the Lord came to me saying, “Life is what you choose to make it.” There’s nothing like God’s perspective to change yours.
Life is what you choose to make it. God has given us domionion. He’s given us a free will. He’s given us abundant life — but we have to choose to take Him up on those things. They won’t drop down on us like manna from heaven. But we don’t have to strive for them either. We need only believe and walk by faith.
Oftentimes, having God’s best begins with a matter of perspective. If we are looking at the world and our circumstances through the eyes of weariness in the midst of the battle, we may feel like giving up. But if we become doers of Isaiah 40:31 (not merely hearers), then we are on our way to living the abundant life Jesus died to give us.
“But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] shall change and renew their strength and power; they shall lift their wings and mount up [close to God] as eagles [mount up to the sun]; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint or become tired.” (Amplified version)
The eagle is a symbol of the prophetic. When we wait upon the Lord, we get that prophetic perspective. We can see things the way God sees them.

When we see things from this heavenly perspective, we won’t grow weary in well doing. When we see things from God’s perspective, we’ll attain a greater revelation of how life and death really are in the power of the tongue. We’ll begin to frame our world with the Word of God. We’ll begin to govern our lives with the Word of God. We’ll begin to become active participants in paving the way for the abundant life Christ offers.
Life is what you choose to make it. How far with your faith carry you toward your destiny? How far will your faith carry you through a difficult day, for that matter? Make a choice today to make your life abundant by waiting on the Lord, getting His perspective, receiving His strength, and speaking His plan over yourself.
You are your own best prophet. Begin prophesying life today.
