Preparing for the Office of the Prophet

And all Israel from Dan even to Beersheba knew that Samuel was established to be a prophet of the Lord. - 1 Samuel 3:20

When called into prophetic ministry, many want the whole world to know the Lord has chosen them to stand in the office of the prophet. But this very desire demonstrates the lack of maturity necessary to stand and withstand the persecution, rejection and spiritual warfare that comes against the prophet.

The Heart of the Prophetic

The Heart of the Prophetic

Do you want to prophesy what saith the Spirit of God with greater authority, stronger boldness and increased accuracy? Do you want that double portion that Elisha carried? Learn the keys to flowing in a more powerful prophetic anointing in this highly recommended book.

“I read this manuscript with great scrutiny for I have been a pioneer, promoter and defender of prophets and prophetic ministry for 55 years. I can honestly say that Jennifer covers some very delicate subjects with sound wisdom and integrity.” - Dr. Bill Hamon

“Jennifer LeClaire’s book, in my estimation, is one of the best books on prophecy available.” - Ernest Gentile

“I loved this book! Jennifer does a bold, insightful job of discerning the precious from the worthless (Jeremiah 15:19) yet also pursues us with the love of God.” - Graham Cooke

When you consider this Verse, also consider that Samuel had been prepared to be established. He had served in the house of God for since he was old enough to hold a broom to sweep the temple. He grew in the things of God and was faithful to Eli. He learned to hear the voice of the Lord. And he overcame the fear of man when Eli demanded to know what the Lord had spoken to him.

Indeed, before Samuel came to the point in his ministry where the Lord “did let none of his words fall to the ground” and exalted him to international influence, Samuel had to be raised up in the Word of God and the ways of God. So if you’ve been called into prophetic ministry, be patient and don’t look to emerge from the wilderness until God establishes you. You can be sure that your time of revealing will come.

My name is Prophetess Izola, I have not read any of your books yet, however, soon.  I love operating in this office. I was chossen for pastorship but God at this time want allow this to be.  Evangelised for approx. 24 years then the call came. Yes boldness is required which one must spend quality time with God and studing his word. It is a time of lonelyness. many times others dont’t understand you some times I don’t understand myself. Praise God for those who have excepted the call for this is ordained by God himself.

thank you Jennifer for the article , am really ble.ssed. Though i’ve not read any of your books,i will like to read more after reading your article on prophetic insight. Prophets, that is true prophets speak the mind of God and they act it. True prophets must have been to the brazen altar, must also have embrd its power. Surely, anyone who will want to be a true prophet, recognised as a carrier of truth, must continually be a sweet smelling sacrfice to God. Dying to flesh is certainly important to be like prophet Samel of old.

i believe we have experienced mighty restoration of the prophetic. This is not an easy one, it comes with greater responsibility, humility, obedience, constant prayer and intercession, love, faith. It is not for personnal glory-forget it. There is always the temptation to be seen and noticed (normal for human beings). Oh how i love this office. I am still learning about this office and i know i will continue to learn. if you are to this one, you will never feel like other people, you will be broken, rejected, sometimes deprived. The devil jumps at every opportunity to try to destroy you and nullify the anointing. BUT in all these the Lord promises to be with us; like Moses, Joshua, Ezekiel. Lets thank God for the prophetic.

I agree with some of what you said, I began with the call to the prophetic and the office of prophet.  I was trained for such and used in a church and also a ministry.  I then was drawn out of the prophetic and became a pastor, I ended up serving at a denominational church for a couple of years and before that served at a non denominational church.  I tell you God is now calling me back to being a prophet but this time He is making it clear that local churches are a bunch of hoowy, they are full of pride, games and social cliques.  He is calling me to only be taught by Him and to not bow a knee to pastors or self proclaimed apostles.  I hope you do the same, most of the teachings today about prophets and protocal and submission is garbage, a prophets best teacher is God and it is God alone who he or she is to submit to.  Dont let the prophetic movement leaders tell you any different.

I Thank God for the article. I too am called to the prophetic office and I can tell you its weighty and carries a heavy burden. You are different, you never view the world in shades of gray only in black and white, intercession has and is my life, I have had issues with leadership, I have to correct, love, forgive even when it hurts and I can see when no one else around me has a clue. Its so much I can say about this office.  I would not exchange it for anything. I have been in preparation for it since birth and am now being birthed out in the spirit. Humbled that God would both call and choose me to draw men unto him when peoples hearts are in rebellion. Humility ,let me tell you is the pulse of the prophetic mantle and a heart of unfeigned agape’ love.

The Office of the Prophet is such an interesting calling and so totally unique from any other ministry calling. Prophets are often treated cruely and many times called into cruel places. Places where rebellion is at its highest. They are resilient and are not offended easily. They would never make it otherwise. They are often loners, misunderstood, and people often become inflamed at them because the propehtic anoiting stirs whatever is within an individual (both good and bad) to the forefront. The Prophet must be a “stand up” kind of person. Satan usually tries to stake claim with intense fear of man at them when they are very young. A Prophet can have no fear of man in his life. It is an exciting calling because Prophets watch God move with regularity. Dry spells for Prophets are especially taxing because a Prophet is used to “moving and groving” with God. All Prophets prophesy but not everyone that prophesies is a Prophet. All prophets also have discerning of spirits gift and may also flow in all the gifts. Most Prophets I know move in the obvious, the prophetic ministry and also deliverance and healing.

I’m new to the call, but i always knew that i wasn’t like everyone else.
I can feel the call of the prophetic with every fiber of my being. I have a problem with distinguishing Gods
voice.
Is it true that the prophetic grows stronger as you grow in it.

Very good except that Samuel was not called to an international ministry. The word plainly says from Dan to Beersheba. Other than that this was very good.

Well first of all it is very important to hear God and to be seasoned but this comes by being in the presence of God in order for Him to really speak to you

This is a wonderful message.  I have been struggling with accepting the call, I need direction, I have suffered intense rejection and despise since my childhood.  I pray for God’s total guidance.

About 6 months ago the Lord said to me..“I call you a prophet, Elaine I call you a prophet”. Now, i wait and study. I listen to all that He speaks to me and shows me. I record it all, so nothing is lost. His words, visions, dreams, all are vital to understanding and obeying. I am hungry for more, all the time. Like a fish out of water, without His voice leading me, I will perish.  I am so grateful for women of God who will lead and stand for what is right. There is perfect order in the Kingdom, we need to know it well and live it.
Thank you so very much,
Elaine

Prophet how do you know that God has called to be a Prophet. I really want to be a hearer from God concerning the problems of others. I dont have the preference for any ministry either but my only desire to be medium of transmission of solutions from God for his people
