The Spirit of Jezebel, Part I
Published Thursday, December 4th, 2008 in Jezebel Spirit Prophetic Spiritual Warfare
Jezebel gained her reputation as an enemy to the prophets of God in the Old Testament era. While dogs devoured the wicked Queen Jezebel, her spirit is alive and well in New Testament times. And this depraved principality has earned another reputation in the last days: enemy of the apostolic.
Queen Jezebel is infamous for her antics in the Book of I Kings. Jezebel is charged with murdering many prophets and cutting off the voice of others that fearfully hid in caves (I Kings 18:4, 13). The Book of Revelation exposes this spirit’s operation in the New Testament age as one that calls herself a prophetess, to teach and seduce the Lord’s true prophets with lust and idolatry (Revelation 2:20).
Jezebel’s attack on prophets has a ripple effect on apostles because these two graces are foundational gifts that work together to build the Church (Ephesians 2:20). Prophets say and apostles do. Cutting off or perverting the prophetic voice, then, hinders the manifestation of the glorious church because apostles are most effective when prophets are in watchtowers instead of caves, in local churches instead of in lust, parking lots and street corners.

A Prophet’s Heart
Would you recognize a false prophet if you saw one? Would you know if you were slipping off the narrow path? Don’t let Jezebel hijack your ministry. Get equipped to discern between true prophets and false prophets in this book. You’ll also receive a free prophetic podcast and e-book with your order.
While Jezebel has not given up on her mission to cut off the prophetic voice, God’s mouthpieces are no longer ignorant to her devices and this powerful principality is now employing more subtle tactics in effort to corrupt the apostolic reformation. She is using false prophets and false apostles that flow in divination (fortune telling) and merchandising (using spiritual gifts for unjust gain) to discredit God’s true ambassadors.
In part two of this series, we’ll talk about the Apostle Paul and the spirit of Jezebel.

The Jezebel spirit is actually a principality that we don’t have the authority to displace but we do have the authority to deal with the spirit it is using. In the church she is lethal, causing discord, splits, and left un-checked can deceive many. This is a very cunning and seducing spirit. This spirit can also wreck havoc and destroy personal lives and is not limited to just using women. It’s mission is to destroy what it fears most: prophets. I fell in love with a woman yielding to the Jezebel spirit. It was an emotional roller coaster ride that nearly destroyed my life. Drama and emotional outbursts is one of the many ways this spirit manifests itself. It is also a very, very seductive spirit and once you have been sucked into her web it can be very painful withdrawing. The best defense is to always listen to what the Holy Spirit is telling you and walk in moral purity. It’s best to deal with this spirit from the start before it can do it’s dirty work. Anyone yielding to this spirit who does not want to be delivered must be isolated from any church ministry or sphere of influence. They tend to “prophesy” a lot, give words of knowledge, attract a following withing the body and are very manipulative. Great post on this subject as so much of the church is unaware of her activity or how lethal this thing is.
